Groton Exercise Helps Cope with Pain and Aging

"If you don't keep going, you're gonna die." Now, there is a title to a research paper! Shoreline Medical Services/ Hutter Chiropractic Office was even startled a bit, but it’s true. No matter your age, your pain, your life plan, we all have to keep moving forward! This is so true for middle- to older-age Groton back and neck pain sufferers. Luckily, Shoreline Medical Services/ Hutter Chiropractic Office is here to help.

ANTI-AGING EXERCISE BENEFITS

We all start considering anti-aging benefits at that certain age! One set of researchers wrote that regular exercise has multi-system anti-aging effects and recommended more research to gather knowledge of just how molecular mediators of exercise benefits work in older folks instead of just looking for pharmaceuticals. (1) Shoreline Medical Services/ Hutter Chiropractic Office wholeheartedly agrees! Walking is amazing! This an important message for all Groton pain sufferers!

BENEFICIAL DAILY EXERCISE STEPS

Walk each day with a goal of 7000 steps. Why? Research. 2,110 black and white men and women and their steps-per-day counts were followed. They sported an accelerometer from 2005 to 2006 and then were monitored for a mean of 10.8 years. Their stats were analyzed in 2020 and 2021 to measure what, if any, association was made between steps-per-day and all-mortality death risk. This study was part of the larger CARDIA (Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults) study. Steps-taken-per-day were defined as “low” (less than 7000), “moderate” (7000-9999) and “high” (more than 10,000). Stepping intensity – stepping rate – played a role, too. Moderate/high step rate was associated with a decreased risk of mortality in black and white women and men in middle-age who took 7000 steps or more a day compared with those who took less. (2) Shoreline Medical Services/ Hutter Chiropractic Office witnesses how walking helps – 7000 steps or not – and urges Groton chiropractic patients to walk what they can. Any walk works!
