HEADACHES AND CHIROPRACTIC CARE
Headaches are not uncommon! Many
Groton headache sufferers get headache relief with
Groton chiropractic care. One out of every 5 new
chiropractic patients come to a chiropractor’s office like
Shoreline Medical Services/ Hutter Chiropractic Office because of headache. Headache
patients account for a significant part
of the chiropractic practice, and that’s true for Shoreline Medical Services/ Hutter Chiropractic Office.
Chiropractors often diagnose and co-manage
with other healthcare providers. (1) Spinal manipulation therapy (SMT) for
cervicogenic headache is reported to be quite successful.
For the most benefit, a new study found that 18 SMT
visits in contrast to 1, 6, and 12 visits, is most
effective, reducing cervicogenic headache days by half.
Compared with slight massage, SMT also created 3 more cervicogenic headache-free days a month. (2)

TIP OF THE MONTH: Vitamin D for Reduced Migraines
It has been proposed
that the inflammation and a diminished immune system may have
a role in migraine headache. The role of nutrients – vitamin D, vitamin B12,
alpha lipoic acid, CoQ10, magnesium, niacin, riboflavin, and riboflavin - in
the supportive care of migraines is seemingly therapeutic.
(3) A new study reports that better
levels of serum Vitamin D (50 to less than 100 ng/mL) decreases
the odds of suffering a migraine headache by 80% to 83% as
opposed to levels below 20 ng/mL. (4) Groton migraine
sufferers may want to consider improving their
Vitamin D status in addition to their Groton
chiropractic care plan.
